Carol Lasky Foster

Carol Lasky Foster

Carol Lasky Foster entered Heaven on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Carol was a beloved wife, mother, sister and daughter. “Christmas Carol” was born Dec. 2, 1947, in Butler, and was the firstborn of Samuel and Eleanor Lasky's nine children.

Carol turned her passion for fine art and antiques into a career appraising them. She studied under the renowned Recco Luppino of Washington, Pa., and earned her certification from ASA. Many Butler locals looked forward to her antique and estate sales and appreciated her ability to identify their most precious belongings. Among her higher-profile appraisals were Hartwood Acres and the Heinz Corporation artifacts.

She also enjoyed playing the piano and painting. Her oil painting of the face of Jesus has deeply touched the hearts of hundreds across the world.

Carol always brought a fun-loving spirit to our large family gatherings.

Carol was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Samuel Lasky and Eleanor DeMatteis Lasky; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Surviving are her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, David Foster; two precious daughters, Laura Morrow and Desirae Foster; two dear grandsons, Luke and David Morrow; eight cherished siblings, Tom Lasky, Dianne Lasky, Sherry Dreher, Kathy Yoder, Cindy Six, Sam Lasky, Elaine Wagner and Tim Lasky; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A special thanks to Hospice VNA and her wonderful caregivers.

Carol will be sorely missed by her family, but they rejoice that her chains are broken as she now dances with Jesus in Heaven.
