But it turned out, police said, that there was no burglary.
Wise eventually returned to his home. Police said they saw him turn into his driveway. He appeared “very excited,” documents said, and impaired.
He admitted to using cocaine earlier, according to a police affidavit, and he led troopers to his stash that was in a bedroom dresser drawer. Police said they found a baggie containing suspected crack cocaine and other drug contraband including a scale.
Wise was subsequently taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results confirmed that he had cocaine in his system.

Toxicology results, documents said, indicated that he had marijuana and oxycodone in his system. His blood-alcohol level was 0.099 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.
In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Hile is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
