Butler Police
2:28 a.m. Friday — Amanda Sue Leinenbach, 30, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on West Brady Street. Leinenbach also was cited for not using her turn signals.
12:15 a.m. Saturday — Robert Thomas, 69, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after he was caught urinating in the Bon Aire Plaza parking lot on Route 8 North. In addition to DUI, Thomas was cited for disorderly conduct and driving an uninspected vehicle.9:05 p.m. Aug. 31 — Kristopher Barkus, 21, of Butler was arrested for drugged driving after his car hit another car, a curb and fence in front of the Butler Area Sewage Authority on Litman Road.Barkus is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to keep right, driving at an unsafe speed and driving with improper tires
7 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Mark S. Heath, 30, of Buckhannon, W.Va., struck the rear of a pickup truck on Route 528 just south of Little Creek Road in Connoquenessing Township. Heath was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, driving without registration and driving with faulty brakes and bad tires.Saturday — Chad Heasley, 26, and Scott Moore, 25, both of New Castle, were arrested for allegedly stealing scrap metal Friday at Noland's Scrap Yard on Pfeifer Road in Muddy Creek Township.1:07 a.m. Friday — Heather L. Graft, 24, of Scottdale, Westmoreland County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 173 and Kelly Boulevard in Slippery Rock.Wednesday — A burglar made off with an undisclosed amount of money and unspecified property in a break-in at Armstrong Farms on Ekastown Road in Clinton Township. The burglary happened between 6 p.m. Sept. 7 and 8 a.m. Wednesday.5:14 p.m. Sept. 2 — Elizabeth R. Pry, 20, of Slippery Rock was hurt in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Route 108 in Slippery Rock that began when a car she was driving rear-ended a car driven by Pamela M. Graham, 44, of Woodland, Clearfield County.In turn, Graham's car was pushed into the back of a car driven by Deborah Waryanka, 46, of Grove City. Waryanka's car was then forced into the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by Wendy A. Campbell, 48, of Slippery Rock.Pry, who was treated at Grove City Medical Center for moderate injuries, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Aug. 31 — Police filed drug-related and other charges against Luke D. Schenck, 19, of Butler stemming from an 11:45 p.m. Aug, 13 traffic stop at West Cunningham and Pillow streets in Butler.Schenck is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possession of a prohibited offense weapon, driving an uninsured and uninspected vehicle and driving without headlights.
12:30 p.m. Saturday — A thief made off with a purse that a Chicora woman had forgotten was on the roof of her car. The woman drove away on Kaylor-Frogtown Road in Bradys Bend Township and a short time later realized she did not have the purse with her.She went home, believing she had left the purse there.While traveling on Kaylor-Frogtown Road she saw a man get out of the passenger's side of a pickup truck and retrieved an orange-colored item on the road.It was not until she arrived back home that she realized what happened to her purse, and that the item the unknown man had picked up was her purse.She drove back to where she saw the man, and found her grocery list and eyeglass cleaner that were in the purse, but the purse was gone.The woman described the pickup as red with white on the bottom, and it had an amber light on the roof.10 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Charles C. Barr Jr., 44, of Parker struck three mailboxes on Route 68 in Toby Township. Barr, who drove away without notifying the owners, faces at least one unspecified traffic violation.
Monday — An unknown thief stole about 100 gallons of diesel fuel from a truck parked at Transportation MGT on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The theft happened between 3 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Monday.
