Seven Fields development advances

SEVEN FIELDS — A new mixed-use development in the borough continues to progress.

Earthwork has been ongoing at the 16-acre lot at the intersection of High Pointe Drive and Route 228, the future site of the Enclave at High Pointe. The development will feature 57 townhouses, a drive-through restaurant and retail space. There will also be a 12,000-square-foot, four-story medical office and a 6,500-square-foot sit-down restaurant.

Council approved the project last year after zoning ordinances were amended for it.

During Monday's meeting of borough council, John Balewski, borough engineer, said minor revisions to the lot lines for each space were presented several weeks ago. He said the borough planning commission reviewed those revisions last week and found no major issues. The commission and Balewski both recommended the final plan to be approved by council.

All members voted to approve the matter.

Balewski said with the final plan approved, the developer would be closer to being able to sell the lots. Megan Turnbull, borough solicitor, added that she and legal representatives for the developer are in the process of working on a covenant for the development, which would be the next step before selling the units.

Council also met in executive session Monday to discuss personnel and contract matters.
