In response to the needs of patients, Butler Eye Care, 391 Evans City Road, is opening an office-based surgery suite on Thursday.

The new suite will offer cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange, expanding the services available at Butler Eye Care, so patients won’t have to travel to a hospital or surgery center.

Licensed ophthalmologist Michael Alunni will perform the surgeries. The practice’s optometrists will provide care before and after the procedure.

According to Butler Eye Care, owned by Jennifer and Michael McGrath, interest from the community has been strong with more than 40 patients already on a waitlist for the new suite.
