BC3 offering girls free STEM programs
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College is offering two free science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs for girls in grades seven to nine. Students will have the opportunity to build and program the latest LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots.
The “Girls One-Day STEM Challenge” will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and a 12-session “Girls Rule the World with STEM” program will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 through April 25.
Seating is limited for both programs, which are free as a result of the Arconic Foundation’s $20,000 donation to BC3’s Kids on Campus program. The hands-on challenges will be in BC3’s Business and Health Professions building on its main campus in Butler Township. Lunch will be provided and commemorative T-shirts will be available.
Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Information and registration is available at 724-284-8504 or bc3.augusoft.net.
