BUTLER TWP — Half of the ramps connecting Route 422 and Route 8 will close April 6 to finish a paving project that began last year.

• These are the ramps that will be closed:

• The ramp from Route 8 south to Route 422 west

• The ramp from Route 422 west to Route 8 south

• The ramp from Route 422 east to Route 8 north

• The ramp from Route 8 north to Route 422 east

Detours will be posted using Routes 8, 422, 68, and 356.

Road work also will begin April 6 around the Hansen Avenue and Route 8 interchange area in preparation for paving operations. Once paving begins, lane restrictions will be in place on Route 8 nightly between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

This overall $2.95 million resurfacing and ramp reconstruction project is being done by Shields Asphalt Paving and is expected to be completed in mid-October.

The work will conclude the project that began in 2014 when crews repaved the other four ramps at the Route 8 and 422 interchange.
