Jordan

Elizabeth G. Jordan, 95, formerly of Kittanning, Freeport and Wellsboro, died Thursday at the Kittanning Care Center.

Born July 30, 1911, in Oakmont, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of Walter Edward and Lucy Davis Buechner.

Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of West Kittanning, where she belonged to the Ladies Missionary and was a former Sunday school teacher.

She was employed with the Child Evangelism Fellowship, Tioga County, as a co-director of the youth organization, where she did Bible teaching for 18 years and retired in 1982. She previously was an aide at the Allegheny Valley Hospital and a cook at the Appalachian Bible College in Virginia.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, listening to music, gardening and cooking and was an amateur photographer.

She is survived by a son, George P. Jordan Sr. of South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County; three daughters, Lucile J. Love of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ruthann Howard of East Brady and Mary E. Smith Rock Hill, S.C.; 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, James W. Jordan, whom she married March 25, 1931, died Jan. 17, 1968. She also was preceded in death by two sons, a grandson, two brothers and a sister.
