Stroup

Wanda A. Stroup, 92, of Karns City, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.

She was born Aug. 30, 1934, in Hooker, Pa., and was a daughter of Lawrence and Irene (Stoughton) Cumberland. She married Dean Stroup Jr. Nov. 26, 1955. He passed away Nov. 8, 2010.

She worked at Murphy's, Penn Champ and Magnetics. She was known for creating beautiful flower gardens and quilts. She was hand quilting the week before she passed away.

Wanda is survived by one daughter, Dena (Jeffrey) Hutchison; one granddaughter, Jenna Hutchison; one great-granddaughter, Isla Ferguson; two sisters, Marie Stroup, of Chicora, and Dorothy (Ray) Webb, of West Sunbury; and three brothers, Dale (Elma) Cumberland, of North Washington, Bob Cumberland, of Chicora, and Rich (Betty) Cumberland, of Butler. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Deal, Joyce Campbell and Delores Kihn.

STROUP — Friends of Wanda A. Stroup, who died Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Concord Presbyterian Church, 673 Hooker Road, West Sunbury.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the church with Bob Mathias as officiating minister.

Inurnment will be next to her husband in Concord Cemetery, 673 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, and will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wanda A. Stroup's memory to the Concord Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 673 Hooker Road, West Sunbury, PA 16061.
