Kenton

Hobart Eugene “Hobe” Kenton, 87, of Sarver, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, at Allegheny Valley Hospital.

He was born in Attica, Ohio, Nov. 24, 1938, and was a son of Elma and Walter Kenton. He was the third of five children.

Hobe proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. His service to his country remained an important part of his life and legacy.

Hobe married the love of his life, Eunice (Shank) Kenton, Nov. 6, 1959. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith and service to others. They were blessed with four children, Hobie (Melissa) Kenton, Christopher Kenton, Deborah (Brian) Bing and Andrew (Katina) Kenton. He was a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren and a great-grandfather to his eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Martha Roberts and Karen Boyd, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Hobe was a talented and dedicated woodworker who loved creating things with his hands, especially for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Nursery School. He made countless wooden toys, including cars and trucks, which he donated to organizations such as Operation Christmas Child and Toys for Tots. He was a member of the Blazing Blades Scroll Saw Group, where he shared his love and talent for woodworking with others. His faith was an important part of his life. Hobe was an active Christian and a member of the Zion Methodist Community Church. He also participated in the Brotherhood, where he enjoyed fellowship and serving alongside others. Hobe leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who loved him dearly and the many people whose lives he touched through his kindness, faith, generosity and willingness to give to others. His hands may no longer be creating the wooden treasures he was known for, but the love and memories he created will live on through the generations of his family, friends and community.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his older brother, Burton “Jim” Kenton; and his sister, Georgia Fagan.

KENTON — Friends of Hobart Eugene “Hobe” Kenton, who died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at FOX FUNERAL HOME in Saxonburg.

Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Seth McClymonds officiating.
