A suspected shoplifter is accused of stealing, of all things, a security camera system.

But that's not all that Butler Township police say Travis R. Hilliard, 32, of Butler swiped from the Walmart at Butler Commons shopping plaza. He also allegedly took two large-screen televisions.

Police last week arrested Hilliard, who already has at least five prior shoplifting convictions, on three felony charges of retail theft.

Hilliard is suspected of loading a 55-inch TV into a shopping cart about 8:45 p.m. Dec. 23 and making off with the item worth $798, according to court documents.

A week later he was back at the same Walmart. Hilliard walked in at 7:17 p.m. Dec. 30 and walked out with a security camera system valued at $349, which he did not pay for, documents said.

He returned to the store 17 minutes later, police said, and carried away a 40-inch TV in a shopping cart. The television is valued at $228.

All three alleged thefts were captured on store surveillance footage, authorities said.

In charging documents police noted that Hilliard in July 2012 was barred from all Walmart properties due to a previous incident at the store.

Police on Jan. 17, assisted by Butler police, arrested him at a home on Zeigler Avenue in the city. He was wanted on a state parole warrant at the time.

In addition to felony shoplifting, he is charged with three summary counts of defiant trespass.

Hilliard is being held in Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail while awaiting his preliminary hearing Feb. 1.
