State police arrested a Lancaster Township man Friday for driving under the influence and driving 95 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Scott Stallworth, 34, of Lancaster Township is charged with drug possession, multiple counts of driving under the influence, speeding and failing to maintain a lane after passing a state trooper on Interstate 79.

Arresting officer David Wellington saw the vehicle crossing the fog line while exceeding the speed limit and pulled him over, according to a police report.

“I could immediately detect the odor of marijuana,” Wellington wrote. “I could see a plastic baggie protruding out of his (Stallworth’s) right front pocket.”

Inside, the officer saw a green substance that looked a lot like marijuana.

“Stallworth produced the bag and handed it to me and stated the marijuana was for personal use,” Wellington said.

He also tested Stallworth to see if he showed signs of impairment. He did, according to documents. Later blood tests showed Stallworth’s blood contained three types of THC, a chemical in marijuana, at the time of the arrest, documents say.

Stallworth will be formally arraigned Feb. 20.
