Allen J. Kuchera, 62, of Severn, Md., formerly of Butler, died April 25 at his home from a lingering illness.

Born in Monongahela, he was the son of Esther Kuchera and the late John "Yank" Kuchera.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1967 for a 6-year tour.

He then met the former Kathy Kelly, and they were married Dec. 26, 1970.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy; a son, Stephen; his mother; a sister, Joyce Titus and her husband, Rick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>KUCHERA</B> — Private burial for Allen J. Kuchera, who died Sunday, April 25, 2010, will be May 22 in Monongahela.
