12:51 p.m. Wednesday — Jonathon R. Blackwell, 27, is accused of attacking his wife, 27-year-old Kacey A. Blackwell, during a domestic dispute at the couple's home on Howard Street.Blackwell allegedly punched his wife in the head and about the arms, spit in her face and poured soda pop on her head. Police said he is charged with simple assault.Tuesday — Someone vandalized a track signaling mechanism at the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad tracks off of Negley Avenue. Maintenance workers discovered that a 50-foot-long copper wire connected from the track to the signal box had been cut and removed.The copper wire is valued at $300.
3:35 p.m. Tuesday — Douglas Mazzanti, 39, of Butler was hurt when he lost control of his car after avoiding another vehicle and struck an embankment, utility pole and sign. Mazzanti was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with unknown injuries.Tuesday — One person was hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction wreck at New Castle and Evans City roads.Police said the crash happened when a vehicle driven by Benjamin Gibson, 25, of Albion, Erie County, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Rodney Steinheiser, 71, of Corry, Erie County. In turn, Steinhiser's car was pushed into the back of a vehicle driven by Douglas Kennedy, 52, of East Butler.Steinheiser was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after complaining of pain to his neck and back.June 7 — Ares M. Harlan, 24, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his speeding motorcycle ran a flashing red light on Carrington Avenue. Police said Harlan, in addition to DUI, faces several traffic tickets.
7:42 p.m. Tuesday — James Trinkley, 47, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his sport utility vehicle sideswiped several trees and crashed down an embankment along Route 308 in Clay Township.Trinkley got out of the wrecked vehicle and walked away from the crash site. Troopers said they later found him walking in the woods not far away.10:50 a.m. Tuesday — A tractor truck driven by Marc Connor, 43, of Polk, Venango County, struck a guardrail on Route 38 north of Boydstown Road in Oakland Township after its passenger side front tire went flat.The truck overturned and leaked diesel fuel onto the road. The Butler County Hazardous Materials Team was called to assist in the clean-up of the fuel spill.6:25 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Gary Wray, 25, of Harrisville struck a deer on Route 8 near Ralston Road in Brady Township.Tuesday — Extension cords and a Dewalt radio were stolen from a barn in a burglary at a home in Fassinger Road in Connoquenessing Township. The break-in happened between Friday and Tuesday.Tuesday — An unknown burglar stole $100 from a pair of concession stands at the Laura J. Doerr Memorial Park in Jefferson Township. The break-in happened between 9 p.m. Monday and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.The stolen money belongs to the Saxonburg Area Baseball Association.5:40 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Dalton R. Hogue, 22, of Slippery Rock crashed into an embankment on West Liberty Road just south of Martin Road in West Liberty. Police said Hogue was cited for a lane violation.4:24 p.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Christopher J. Dekock, 40, of Marietta, Ga., struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.1:55 a.m. Monday — Gilbert Smith, 32, of Emlenton, Venango County, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 68 near O'Donnell Road in Donegal Township.6:10 p.m. Sunday — An SUV driven by Brenda A. Hale, 45, of Shippenville, Clarion County, and a car driven by Chad M. Ifft, 26, of Butler collided on Route 38 just east of Spillway Lane in Oakland Township. Police said Hale was cited for careless driving.6:05 p.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Adriene McWilliams, 50, of Valencia and an SUV driven by Teresa M. Lewis, 46, of Sarver collided on Route 356 just south of Winfield Road in Winfield Township. The collision forced the pickup into a third vehicle driven by Judith Thompson, 55, of Cabot.Lewis, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. She was treated at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County.Police said McWilliams was cited or making an improper left turn.1:50 a.m. Sunday — Brian L. Dittman, 39, of Emlenton was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Route 38 just south of Bowser Road in Washington Township.1:39 a.m. Sunday — Megan A. Wolf, 24, of Wesleyville, Erie County, lost control of her car, crossed the median and ended in a grassy road side on I-79 in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Wolf was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.4:43 a.m. Saturday — Joshua T. Bennett, 21, of Portersville was arrested for suspicion of DUI after he crashed his vehicle on Hipps Terrace in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Bennett fled the scene after the wreck.12:39 a.m. Saturday — John J. Daniluk Jr., 34, of Butler Township was caught with suspected marijuana and drug contraband in a car parked at the Sam's Club loading dock in Moraine Pointe Plaza. Daniluk faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.11:50 p.m. June 4 — Tenzing Lama, 22, of Slippery Rock was hurt when the car he was driving struck an embankment and rolled over onto its roof in Jackson Township. Lama, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with moderate injuries.1:26 a.m. June 3 — Brandon T. Hilyard, 27, of Cabot was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car traveled through a yard in the 300 block of Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township and struck a parked car. Police said Hilyard drove away after the crash.Saxonburg police later found the suspect's car in a parking lot. Hilyard was subsequently found and arrested.Police cited Hilyard for hit-and-run, speeding, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, failing to stop and give information after an accident, careless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.May 29 — Someone stole a pump attached to a demonstrator pool at County Pools and Spa on New Castle Road in Franklin Township. The theft happened between May 26 and 29.
10:20 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Charles E. Feitl, 47, of Boyers rear-ended a minivan on Route 58 just west of South Madison Avenue in Grove City. Jennifer D. Hicks, 38, of Grove City, who was driving the van, suffered minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.Police said Feitl was cited for careless driving.12:55 a.m. Tuesday — Randy K. Blank, 48, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police found him sleeping in his vehicle's driver's seat on Route 208 at North Liberty Road in Pine Township.6:05 p.m. Monday — Ryan Adsit, 29, of Harrisville is accused of vandalizing a Pine Township house where he previously worked as a subcontractor. Police said Adsit kicked open a side door to the unoccupied home, breaking the lock.Once inside, he retrieved his personal property, according to a police report. He allegedly threw a screwdriver through a glass window as he left the house. Police said he faces a charge of criminal mischief.1:15 p.m. Monday — Three people were hurt in a one-car crash in Wolf Creek Township. The wreck happened when Kami L. Shaw, 32, of Summerville, Jefferson County, lost control of the car on Interstate 80, and struck a ditch and several trees before rolling over, police said.Shaw and two youths riding in the car were taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Police said Shaw was cited for careless driving.May 29 — An unknown thief stole a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer and $280 from a Butler woman's vehicle on Latonka Drive in Coolspring Township. The computer, valued at $560, and money was taken May 28 or 29.
Monday — An unknown thief broke into a vehicle at Kennedy Mill in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, and stole a clipboard and invoices owned by CGH Carpet & Upholstery in Millvale, Allegheny County. The theft happened between 8:10 and 8:30 p.m.
