A parking lot fender bender at Moniteau School District earlier this school year led to a school volunteer being arrested when THC vape pens were discovered in his vehicle, police said.

Police said a vehicle belonging to Connor McDermott Geary, 21, of Slippery Rock, was searched after a student backed a vehicle into Geary’s on Sept. 2, and reported seeing the suspected THC vape pens in plain view.

Geary was charged Oct. 2 with one misdemeanor count each of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession.

A school principal asked for the search following the crash. Police then spoke with Geary in the office of the school’s principal. Geary told police he forgot to remove the vape pens from the vehicle, and there was also packaged marijuana in the vehicle.

Moniteau School District superintendent Aubrie Schnelle said Geary is no longer employed with the district

Geary’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:55 a.m. Nov. 18 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
