George W. Robertson

George W. Robertson, 87, of Woodbridge, Va., formerly of Solomon Run Road, Johnstown, died Saturday at Envoy of Woodbridge.

Born Dec. 20, 1922, in Johnstown, he was the son of Walter and Amelia (Coleman) Robertson.

He was preceded in death by parents; and sisters, Mary Ellen Steefe, Dorothy Breto and Charlotte Wilkins.

He is survived by wife, Lois R. (Endler) Robertson of Woodbridge; sons, Ronald, married to Vicki Bell, of Woodbridge and Alan, married to Nancy O'Planick, of Meridian; grandchildren, Emily and Matthew Robertson and Christina, wife of Robert Albert; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Albert; and brother, Charles Robertson of Beaverdale.

George retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. after 35 years in the metallurgical department.

He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific theater with the anti-tank company in the 53rd Infantry Regiment.

George was very active in the Civil Air Patrol and as a Boy Scout leader in the Solomon Run area in the early 1960s.

<B>ROBERTSON</B> — Friends of George W. Robertson, who died Saturday, April 10, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home</B>, South Fork, Cambria County, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Father Robert P. Reese. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.Military graveside services will be accorded by St. Michael American Legion Post 551.Information also is available at www.dimondfuneralhome.
