John E. Graham
John E. Graham, 86, of Piper Village in Butler died Sunday at his residence.
He was born July 8, 1923, in Butler, a son of the late William and Ethel Young Graham.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during World War II.
On Jan. 9, 1947, John married the former Pauline A. Young. Together, they owned and operated Graham's Beer Distributor in Saxonburg for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1980.
John was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He also was a lifetime member of the R.C. Men's Club in Herman and VFW Post 249 in Butler.
He also was a good horseshoe pitcher and was a former member of the Butler County Horseshoe League.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline A. Graham; two daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Paul Cuny of Butler and Dianne and Randy Estes of Denver; three sons and their wives, Gary and Julie Graham of Denver, Randy and Denise Graham of Warner Robins, Ga., and Gregory and Theresa Graham of Butler; a brother, Chuck Graham and his wife, Patricia, of Butler; two sisters, Mabel Weiland and Ruth Rodgers and her husband, Charles, all of Butler.
Ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
Six brothers, three sisters and a grandchild preceded him in death.
<B>GRAHAM</B> — Friends of John E. Graham, who died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B> 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery in North Oakland.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at the church to recite the rosary.Memorial donations may be made in John's name to the Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice, 240 Pullman Square Suite 255, Butler, PA 16001.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
