Donald E. McDonald, 87, of Harmony, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Born on July 4, 1939, in Erie, he was the son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Schrenk) McDonald.

Donald was a member of Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Donald retired from Moffitt Hospital in Tampa, Fla. Prior to that, he was a vice president at Johnson & Johnson. Donald also acted as chief pharmacist of Northwestern University Hospital Group. He was a former president of the American Association of Hospital Pharmacists.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Dana (Mark) McDonald-Strong and Kevin P. McDonald (former spouse, Margaret); his three grandchildren, Charles, Wilson and Madison; and his brother, Robert (Linda) McDonald.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Burgh McDonald; his son, James; and his brothers, Michael, John and Thomas McDonald.

MCDONALD — Friends and family of Donald E. McDonald, who died Sunday, July 26, 2026, will be welcomed from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople.

Donald will be laid to rest at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
