John Ahrens
John G. Ahrens, 63, of Butler, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minn., on June 7, 1963, son of the late Glenn and Marilyn (Miller) Ahrens.
John graduated from Butler High School in 1981 and then later graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. He was employed in the power department at Cleveland-Cliffs for 40 years.
John was known for being one of a kind, very genuine and easygoing. Everyone who knew him loved him. He would do anything for anyone and lived his life with no regrets.
John was a wonderful husband and father who loved spending time with his wife and his dog, Marley, listening to music, playing cards and going to trivia. He enjoyed riding his bike, spending time at the lake cottage and planned to spend the winters down in Florida.
John was the beloved husband of Stacey (Martin) Ahrens; father of Michael and Dylan (Madi) Ahrens; stepfather of Hannah (Cory) Trauterman and Olivia Galbreath; brother of Judy (Jim) Doyle, Jane (Bob) McCulley, and Mark (Monica) and Grant (Sabrina) Ahrens.
AHRENS — Family and friends of John G. Ahrens, who died Thursday, July 23, 2026, will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
