10:10 a.m. Monday — Patricia Baptiste, 59, of Butler was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after police responded to a call from the Rite Aid on South Main Street. Baptiste admitted taking a bag of Halloween candy worth $15 and an Indian wolf bag containing 142 CDs, a leather CD holder and a CD player with headphones, worth a total of $322, from the front of the store. Leo Soli, 27, of Butler, who owns the CD-related items and the candy, reported the items stolen to store management. Baptiste was identified through the store surveillance tape.
Thursday — Mike Sanios, owner of the Country Kitchen on Pittsburgh Road in Penn Township, reported the theft of $1,574 in money from the restaurant sometime between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 4 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information should call state police at 724-284-8100.Tuesday — Kermit Minich, 40, of Connoquenessing Township reported the theft of a 6.5-horsepower dirt bike from his Krenitsky Lane residence between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The black Baja bike has an oversized gas tank.Wednesday — Clifford Keck, 53, of Butler reported the theft of a .357-caliber handgun from his unlocked Jeep at 424 Euclid Ave. that occurred at an unknown time. The gun, worth $350, is a Ruger SP101.Wednesday — Dennis Kuzar of Patton, Pa., reported $4,200 worth of damage done to construction equipment used for the removal of railroad tracks along Queens Junction Road in Clay Township that occurred between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. Police said four Clay Township boys, ages 6, 7, 8 and 10, vandalized the equipment.
