DUI sentence not strict enough
Recently, a woman who pleaded guilty to driving drunk and causing a crash that injured three people was let off basically scot-free by Judge William Shaffer. The woman pleaded guilty to felony DUI and aggravated assault.
Shaffer fined her $2,500. You know it will never get paid. Shaffer heard victim impact statements about the injuries and still let the woman off. She got no jail time. I guess Judge Shaffer thinks drunken felonies that injure people are no big deal. Sad, isn't it?
