Johnson

John Henry "Butch" Johnson, 77, of Hidden Meadows, Renfrew, formerly of Van-Mar Drive, died at 3:58 a.m. Wedn-esday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born in Butler, Dec. 28, 1929, he was the son of Henry B. Johnson and Edna Walker.

He had been a roll grinder at Armco-Butler Works and retired June 30, 1991, after 43 years.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Community Alliance Church and had been active in his church and the Boy Scouts of America Armco Troop 16.

He enjoyed golfing.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Sopel Johnson, whom he married May 12, 1956; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Patti) Miller of Renfrew; a son, John J. Johnson of Butler; a grandson, Christopher Miller and his wife, Kim; a granddaughter, Heather Clement, and her husband Matt; two great-granddaughters, Molly and Anna Miller; and two great-grandsons, Mattix and Madden Clement.

He also is survived by a sister, Pat Boinest of Davidson, N.C., and two nephews.

A sister preceded him in death.

North St.Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Community Alliance Church with the Rev.
