State police will host a presentation teaching parents how to avoid online predators on social platforms for children, such as Roblox.

The Nov. 4 presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Mars Area High School, 520 PA-228 in Mars, and will teach parents how to identify common grooming tactics and warning signs that a child may be interacting with someone online unsafely.

Attendees will also learn how these social platforms work, how they appeal to children and how online predators attempt to exploit them to communicate with children.

Police will also discuss examples of how predators convince children to move from the game to other platforms and commit offenses.
