Helen S. Semanco, 91, of Lyndora died Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

She was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Butler, a daughter of the late John and Mary Dunda Sherba.

Helen was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. She also was a member of the Ladies Guild at her church.

She is survived by her husband, John "Jim" Semanco, who she married Aug. 11, 1945.

Also surviving are two sons, James W. Semanco and his wife, Donna Semanco of Midland, Mich., and David J. Semanco of Stevens City, Va.; three sisters, Ann Kovach, Sue Herman and Julie Buzas, all of Butler; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Anja and Aidan Semanco; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Semanco of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

<B>SEMANCO</B> — Friends of Helen S. Semanco, who died Friday, May 14, 2010, will be received at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., in Butler from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, with Father Robert F. Oravetz, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery.Parasta's services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday from the funeral home.
