Larry J. Roudebush

Larry J. “Buzz” Roudebush, 72, of Karns City saw the face of Jesus around sunset Tuesday at his home following a courageous battle with cancer while surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Roudebush was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Karns City. He was the son of the late John and Agnes Baumcratz Roudebush.

Larry graduated from Fairview Township Karns City High School in 1961, and he was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Korea in the early 1960s.

In his earlier years, Larry was employed by Pullman Standard in Butler, later working at Fosco Fabricators in Illinois, and he retired from the Quaker State Oil Refining Corp. in Newell, W.Va.

He loved spending time with his family, hunting and fishing. He was an avid nature lover and enjoyed growing house plants and feeding the birds, as well as remodeling his home and working on vehicles. He attended Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. McElravy Roudebush, who he married Feb. 13, 1965, at Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.

Also surviving are a daughter, Laurene “Cis” (Cooper) Roudebush of East Liverpool, Ohio; three sons, Mike Roudebush and his wife, Deborah, of Chester, W.Va., Chris Roudebush and his wife, Amy, of Karns City and John Roudebush and his wife, Rhonda, of Newell, W.Va.; three grandsons, Andrew Roudebush of Karns City, Jonathan Roudebush of St. Albans, W.Va., and Kyle Roudebush and his wife, Sarah, of Chicora; three sisters, Margie Burdett and her husband, Ron, of East Liverpool, Ohio, Bonnie Bartley of Chester, W.Va., and Joan Forsythe and her husband, Larry, of Rimersburg; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Also surviving is his best friend and canine companion, Buzzel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis “Deg” Roudebush and an infant brother, Ronnie Roudebush.

ROUDEBUSH — Friends of Larry J. Roudebush, who died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, and from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Karns City Church of God of Prophecy.A funeral service will follow from the church at 2 p.m. with Bishop Ronald Roudebush, church pastor, officiating, assisted by Bishop Jay Croyle, presiding bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy in Pennsylvania and the Rev. O.J. Roudebush, a Church of God of Prophecy pastor.Interment with military honors provided by the Chicora VFW and the American Legion and the Bradys Bend American Legion posts will follow at Hillview Cemetery.Memorial contributions in Mr. Roudebush's name may be made to the Butler VNA, 154 Hindman Rd., Butler, PA 16001.To send a condolence, please visit www.hilefh.com.
