Man accused of stealing gun, license plate

A Rimersburg man accused of robbing a teenager at gunpoint in Petrolia stole a gun a day later from a residence in Parker Township, police said.

James A. Ganoe III, 32, was charged Monday, June 19, with felony burglary and two counts of misdemeanor theft in the new case.

Court documents showed Ganoe was placed in Allegheny County Prison on June 15.

Police said a homeowner witnessed a man, later identified as Ganoe, entering her shed without permission May 31. The homeowner reported a motorcycle license plate and Crosman air pistol missing from the shed following the incident.

Ganoe allegedly left the property on a motorcycle, which was later discovered to be stolen.

Police had originally charged Ganoe for an incident at Petrolia Mini Mart on May 30.

Around 6 p.m. that day, Ganoe allegedly threatened an 18-year-old from Chicora after the teen refused to give him winnings from a PA Skills Game.

Police said Ganoe brandished two guns and threatened to shoot the cashier and steal money from the register.

The teen gave his $10 winnings to Ganoe, who then left the scene on a new, stolen Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 motorcycle, according to documents.

A preliminary hearing for Ganoe has not yet been scheduled.
