11:23 a.m. Wednesday — Matthew P. Williams, 26, was arrested for allegedly assaulting his 26-year-old girlfriend, Brandy McClure, during a domestic dispute at their Mitchell Avenue home. Williams is charged with simple assault.

Thursday — Police filed drug-related and other charges against Norman Ziegler, 51, and Jennifer Okeson, 35, both of Butler, stemming from a 2:30 a.m. Oct. 15 traffic stop on Mercer Road. Officers said they saw a crack pipe in the center console of the suspects' minivan.A search of the van turned up a suspected crack cocaine rock. Ziegler and Okeson are charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy. Police also cited Ziegler for speeding.6:14 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Korie Thompson, 37, of Butler struck the back of a car at New Castle and Barracks roads. Tyler Makstutis, 25, of Butler was driving the car.12:10 p.m. Monday — Vehicles driven by Daniel Kaufold, 64, of Butler and George Davis, 76, of Valencia collided at McCalmont Road and Route 8. Kaufold's vehicle then struck a truck stopped at the intersection. Kaufold was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

7:30 p.m. Wednesday — Three people were hurt when a minivan driven by Patricia J. Whitling, 20, of Emlenton struck the back of a car on Route 208 near Switzer Road in Beaver Township. Whitling and the driver, Angie Minich, 31, of New Bethlehem, were treated at the scene for injuries.A passenger in the car, Corey Willison, 34, of Knox, was taken to Clarion Hospital with minor injuries. Police said Whitling was cited for careless driving.

Thursday — An unknown thief stole scrap metal at Omega, Inc. on Route 208 in Clinton Township, Venango County. The theft happened between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.

4:45 p.m. Thursday — Six Pittsburgh Pirates caps were stolen from a hat store at Prime Outlets in Springfield Township.Three unknown suspects — two black males and a black female — are being sought in the theft at the Lids store. Police said the female stood by the door and one male distracted the lone employee as the second male placed the hats in a bag he was carrying.Police said the three thieves walked out of the store together. The hats are valued at a combined $204.One of the male suspects is described as 6 feet, 3 inches with a medium build. He wore a gray or black knit cap and a red hooded jacket. The other male, about 6 feet with a medium build, had teardrop tattoos below each eye. He wore a baseball cap or knit hat and a white plaid shirt.The female suspect is between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches with a medium to heavy build. He wore a white jacket with a green shirt.
