Hawk

Alberta F. Hawk, 89, of Fairmont Road, Chicora, died at 1 p.m. Wedn-esday at Sunnyview Home where she lived for the past week.

Born in Canoe Township, Indiana County, Feb. 12, 1918, she was a daughter of Aaron and Araminta Seger Gaston.

She was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church and was active in all church functions and activities revolving around her family.

Mrs. Hawk retired from Butler Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide after 10 years. Prior to that, she had been an aide at the Chicora Medical Center and a cafeteria worker at the Karns City High School.

Surviving are a son, Ronald E. Hawk and his wife, Rawla, of Missoula, Mont.; two daughters, Jacquelyn A. Sertik of Butler and Cheryl L. Hutchison of Chicora; four grandchildren, Ryan Hawk and his wife, Caroline, of Chicago, Ronna Abshure and her husband, Heath, of Cabot, Ark., Charles Hutchison and his wife, Laura, of Germantown, Ohio, and Michael Hutchison and his wife, Rachael, of Englewood, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren, Fiona Hawk of Chicago, Emma Hutchison of Germantown and Natalie and Hannah Hutchison, both of Englewood.

She also is survived by two brothers, Jack Gaston and his wife, Patricia, of Punxsutawney and Donald Gaston and his wife, Clara, of Winchester, Va.; five sisters, Rudy Craft of New Brighton, Annabelle Ayers of Baden, Hilda Mae Gaston of Punxsutawney and Shirley Cassidy and her husband, James, and Joyce Carden, all of Ebensburg.

She married Ledsel D. "Lud" Hawk Aug. 6, 1938, in Kittanning. He died Aug. 24, 1994. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Lex "Johnnie," Albert "Tuck," and Aaron "Mike" Gaston, and a sister, Burnell Gaston.

<B>Hawk</B>— Friends of Alberta F. Hawk, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Richard d. Hillis funeral Home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glea Foster, her church pastor, officiating.Burial will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
