Wilbert

Edith M. Wilbert, 86, of Fenelton died Wednesday at Evie's Country Care Home in Butler.

She was born Dec. 19, 1923, in Butler, a daughter of the late John T. and Suzanne Boyle McDevitt.

Edith was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center.

Edith was an excellent seamstress and had made many lovely clothes for her children over the years. She also enjoyed playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing the lottery and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan.

Surviving are four sons, Michael J. Wilbert and his wife, Becky, Robert H. Wilbert and his wife, Mildred "Mid," and Richard P. Wilbert and his wife, Carol, all of Butler, and John T. Wilbert of Bedford; three daughters, Linda Leitem and her husband, James, of Butler, Joanne Baptiste and her husband, Terry, of Fenelton and Kathleen A. Wilbert-Rodgers of Chicora; a brother, Robert McDevitt and his wife, Vivian, of Butler; a sister, Joan Schrody and her husband, Joseph, of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Lorraine McDevitt of Butler; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Wilbert, who she married Oct. 24, 1946, and who died Dec. 25, 2000; a grandson; a granddaughter; two brothers, and two sisters.

<B>WILBERT </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Edith M. Wilbert, who died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, Carbon Center. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Coylesville.Memorial donations may be made to Butler Meals on Wheels, 218 E.
