School might not be held in person, but Seneca Valley students in Dan McKosky's video production classes brought home six awards from Robert Morris University's Virtual Digital Media Arts Consortium student video festival earlier this month.
Senior Cerrina Hagood won distinction with her video as art submission “Past vs. Present” and senior Liz Guenther won for black and white photography with her photo “Brooke.”
Together, Cerrina and Liz also won in the PSA category for their film “Liking Isn't Helping.”
Junior Hayden Smith won with his news package about the new SV aquatic center, and junior Ashley Matuszak won in the special effects category with “Space Chase Chaos!”
Senior James Rickard won a Founders Award for his contributions to SVTV and the video program over the last four years.
“We are so proud of our incredible students and wish we could see them in person to congratulate them,” McKosky said.
Over 500 students from Western Pennsylvania participated in the contest. This event provides students with the opportunity to integrate with other students and see productions from across the region.
Additionally, the event gives students a chance to compare their skills and achievements to their peers, while also providing ideas for upcoming shows and projects.
