4:14 p.m. Thursday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Joshua D. Morrow, 25, of Petrolia rear-ended another SUV on Route 68 just north of Dusty Lane in Oakland Township. Jamie M. Bray, 43, of Chicora was the other driver.

No injuries were reported but Morrow’s vehicle had to be towed. Police cited Morrow for following too closely to another vehicle.

11:41 a.m. Thursday — One person was injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. Police did not identify the drivers.

The collision happened, according to a police report, as a vehicle was traveling south and a pickup truck was pulling out of a driveway. The driver of the southbound vehicle was ejected.

That driver landed on the road in the left but immediately got up and got off the road. The driver was taken to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The other driver and two passengers in the pickup were not injured.

6:20 a.m. Thursday — A tri-axle truck driven by Eric B. Boben, 49, of West Sunbury backed up into the front of a car on Mitchell Road at East Butler Road in Summit Township. Police said Boben was backing up to allow more room for a turning truck and did not see the car behind him.

Jason A. Haigh, 42, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, was driving the car. Police cited Boben for improperly backing a vehicle on the road.

Thursday — Police are investigating an apparent case of vandalism earlier this month at a home in Clearfield Township. Police said a vehicle July 3 drove through a front yard on McEvoy Road.

8:45 p.m. Tuesday — Two cars collided in the parking lot at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. No one was injured. Police did not identify the drivers.

July 12 — Stephen J. Willetts, 43, of Fenelton was charged with drunken driving after from a traffic stop last month on North Road in Franklin Township. Police allege the defendant about 10:30 a.m. June 18 ran a red light and drove erratically on Route 422.

Willetts admitted that he had been drinking beer and vodka, according to court documents. He was subsequently taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test after he failed field sobriety testing, court documents said.

Toxicology reports showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.089 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In addition to driving under the influence, Willetts is charged with a red light violation and disregarding traffic lanes.

2:02 a.m. July 7 — Ashley A. Keil, 31, of Butler was charged with DUI in the area of West Old Route 422 and Country Club Road in Franklin Township. She was pulled over, police said, for having an expired vehicle registration.

She showed impairment during field sobriety tests, according to court documents, and was taken for a breath test, which indicated her blood-alcohol level was 0.089 percent.

Keil is charged with DUI, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without valid inspection and careless driving.

4:18 a.m. July 14 — Two shoplifters reportedly took $2,632 worth of merchandise at the Hilltop Plaza Walmart in East Franklin Township. The suspects are described as being a male and female, both white.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.

1:55 a.m. July 12 — A 43-year-old Templeton man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the 100 block of Tickle Lane in Rayburn Township. Police, who did not identify the driver, said charges are pending lab results.

4:58 p.m. July 10 — Krista L. Penrose, 34, of West Mifflin, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 422 about one-half mile west of the Graff Bridge in North Buffalo Township.

Police said charges are pending lab results. A police report noted that Penrose was driving with a suspended license.

3:46 p.m. July 9 — A Butler County man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Tarentum. John J. O’Brien, 66, of Saxonburg, one of the drivers, was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights with apparent minor injuries.

Police said the wreck happened on Route 28 north just south of Exit 14 when a cargo van driven by Stephen J. Marutiak, 26, of Natrona Heights struck the back of O’Brien’s car.

Police cited Marutiak for following too closely to another vehicle.
