Pflueger

Hugo M. Pflueger, 94, of Sarver passed away Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born Nov. 15, 1915, to Adolph and Clara (Kroeger) Pflueger in Luverne, Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European theater.

He was the owner of Pflueger's Barber Shop in Saxonburg from 1950 to 1980 and was the founder and former owner of Pflueger's Candy Co.

He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Butler, the Saxonburg American Legion, the Saxonburg VFW, Armstrong Lodge 239 F&AM, the New Castle Consistory and the Syria Shrine.He enjoyed golfing and gardening.Hugo is survived by his son, William M. (Barbara) Pflueger of Saxonburg; two brothers, Virgil Pflueger of Tuscon, Ariz., and Irvin Pflueger of Lake Worth, Fla.; three grandchildren, Daniel Pflueger, Lisa Righi and Ron Pflueger; and also by seven great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth A. (Muder) Pflueger on Aug. 4, 2003; a brother, Harold Pflueger; and five sisters, Dorothea Montag, Agatha Dempster, Viola Lang, Virginia Stepp and Helen Frye.

<B>PFLUEGER</B> — Visitation for Hugo M. Pflueger, who died Thursday, May 13, 2010, will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at <B>Fox Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alden Towberman officiating. Everyone is to meet at the church.
