Tuesday — Police are investigating an apparent vandalism spree that targeted vehicles between Monday night and Tuesday morning.Several vehicles were marked with blue, yellow and pink soap or markers. The unknown vandals wrote obscene words and drew crude images.Police took reports from vehicle owners in the 300 blocks of Franklin, Broad and North Bluff streets and the 700 block of Center Avenue.

1:25 a.m. Tuesday — A white male stole money from a car on Penn Avenue in Lyndora. The owner spotted the suspect get out of the vehicle and gave chase but was unable to catch the thief.5:19 p.m. Sunday — Anthony Serafine, 24, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after a one-car crash on Pittsburgh Road near the Picklegate Crossing.6:41 p.m. Sunday — Two teens allegedly were caught with marijuana in a wooded area on West Metzger Avenue. Matthew Sheppeck, 18, of Butler and a 16-year-old Prospect boy are charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.Grove City Police12:06 a.m. Thursday — Brian Reash, 31, was arrested on a felony warrant at his Gilmore Avenue apartment. Reash is charged in the arrest warrant with robbery and theft. Police said Reash about 10 p.m. Sept. 4, 2009, entered the BiLo Market on Mill Street with a gun and ordered money from the safe. The bandit left the store with a large amount of money.A preliminary hearing for Reash is set for Aug. 24.

3:50 p.m. Monday — A Kenworth truck driven by Matthew P. Miller, 30, of Petrolia rolled onto its side and into a guardrail on Route 308 near Aggas Road in Center Township. A car driven by Barbara A. Layton, 60, of West Sunbury drove upon the crash and was hit with flying debris from the truck. Miller was cited for driving too fast for conditions.9:40 p.m. Sunday — Rachelle Lee Brown, 34, of Summit Township was arrested after police found her apparently impaired by prescription drugs in the middle of Beck Road in Summit Township. Brown allegedly struggled with troopers.She claimed she had not slept in three days and was taking several medications, including the anti-anxiety prescription drug Klonopin.Brown was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and being a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.9:30 p.m. Saturday — Garret M. McCabe, 19, of Winfield Township is accused of firing a .22-caliber rifle at a car traveling on Cooper Road just east of Route 356 in Jefferson Township.McCabe was riding in a pickup truck when he fired the rifle from the passenger side window “in an attempt to shoot out the victim's (rear) tire,” according to court documents.The eastbound truck was behind the car when the shot was fired. Three 16-year-old boys, who police did not identify, were in the car. No one was hurt.McCabe was arrested and arraigned on three counts each of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is free on $5,000 unsecured bail1:40 p.m. Aug. 8 — Austin J. Malone, 20, of Zelienople was hurt when the car he was driving crashed into an embankment and rolled on Interstate 79 south of Route 108 in Worth Township. Malone, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with a moderate neck injury. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions and a lane violation.

1:17 p.m. Monday — Angela E. Fiortia, 30, no address given, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after her vehicle struck another vehicle on Route 28 about one mile south of Slate Lick in South Buffalo Township.Monday — Someone shot out the window of a Caterpillar excavator on Lairds Crossing Road in Worthington. The vandalism happened between Aug. 5 and Monday.

6:15 p.m. Monday — Karen L. Cameron, 37, of Grove City was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting four bottles of cold medicine. Cameron is charged with felony retail theft since she had four prior shoplifting arrests. She was arraigned and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $5,000 bail.</B>
