A Saxonburg man was placed on the county Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program in Butler County Court on Tuesday after being charged with burglary in Slippery Rock Township.

Zakariah T. Dovenspike, 18, was placed on the program for 12 months on charges of misdemeanor false identification to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night and summary public drunkenness by county Judge Timothy McCune.

Dovenspike was charged after a report of three males trying to break into the Allegheny Valley School's group home on Grove City Road in Slippery Rock Township.

The Allegheny Valley School is a private, nonprofit agency that serves children, adults and seniors with mental retardation, physical handicaps, medical complications and behavior program needs.

Six residents and two employees were at the group home at the time, school officials said.

When police arrived, Dovenspike “was found asleep on a bench near the doors the individuals were trying to open,” according to a police affidavit.

Dovenspike was found to be intoxicated and gave a bogus name to officers, police said.

Following arraignment, he was released on nonmonetary bail. He was also initially charged with felony attempted burglary, which was later withdrawn at the magisterial district court level.
