8:36 p.m. Sunday — Police stumbled upon a secret garden of sorts while searching for a missing child.Eight marijuana plants — between 15 and 20 inches tall — were found along a beaten path from railroad tracks into the brush off Negley Avenue, police said.Along with the plants that were discovered in two recently cleared areas in dense weeds, the outdoor grow operation contained several seedlings, pots and potting soil.Officers seized and destroyed the plants.

3 p.m. Sunday — Joseph M. Gall, 29, of Prospect was arrested for allegedly assaulting 23-year-old Keilynn Shaffer during a domestic dispute at an Aljuron Lane home in Prospect. Shaffer, of Prospect, suffered minor injuries to her left forearm and right hand.Police said Gall was arrested on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison pending arraignment.Saturday — A dirt bike and all-terrain vehicle were among several items stolen in a burglary at a home in the 600 block of Little Creek Road in Connoquenessing Township.The unknown suspects, described as white men with dark hair, made off in a dark Chevrolet Blazer or Suburban.Stolen in the burglary between Tuesday and Saturday was a white and blue Yamaha TTR 125 dirt bike, a white and blue Yamaha 80 ATV, Craftsman tool set, a Delta diamond-plate truck tool box and a Rigid five-gallon air compressor.3:15 p.m. Friday — Keith E. Lutes, 37, of Slippery Rock suffered minor injuries when the pickup truck he was driving struck a ditch and rolled, landing on its wheels, on Harmony Road in Mercer Township.3 a.m. Friday — Brian J. McLaughlin, no age given, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his truck crashed into a guard rail on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Police said McLaughlin drove the truck, with one rim bare, to the intersection of Golden City Road before fleeing the scene.1:08 a.m. Friday — John J. Knox, 37, of Petrolia was arrested for allegedly pushing a female, who police did not identify, down a stairway during a domestic dispute at an Apple Road home in Fairview Township. Police said Knox is charged with simple assault.12:22 a.m. Friday — William R. Fisher Jr., 56, of Hilliards was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Branchton Road in Washington Township.Friday — A 4-foot-high black and white plastic cow decoration was stolen from the backyard of a home on Route 308 in Cherry Township. The theft happened between 8 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m. Friday.Friday — Police filed DUI charges against Rose E. Jenkins, 44, of Petrolia stemming from a June 13 traffic stop at Route 268 and Ekas Lane in Fairview Township. Jenkins also is charged with disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.Friday — Police filed DUI charges against Timothy G. Fleeger, 49, of Butler after police about 1 a.m. June 10 found his vehicle on railroad tracks on Hooker Road near Route 268 in Fairview Township. Troopers searched the area and a short time later found Fleeger hiding in weeds.In addition to DUI, Fleeger is charged with trespass by vehicle, illegally parking within 50 feet of a railroad crossing and improperly entering an intersection.Thursday — Someone stole six car rims from Noland's Garage on Pfeifer Road in Muddy Creek Township. About $30 also was taken from a car at the garage. The thefts happened between 1 and 3 a.m.5:06 a.m. June 12 — Scott Austin Loomis, 24, of West Sunbury was arrested for suspicion of DUI after he was found sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle at Route 308 and Elliot Road in Center Township.

10:41 a.m. Thursday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Thomas W. Zitzman, 54, of Rimersburg and Carla L. Manculich, 41, of Parker collided at Cherry Run and Concord Church roads in Toby Township. Police said Zitzman was cited for a stop sign violation.

11:17 a.m. Saturday — Two infants were among six people hurt in a head-on crash in South Buffalo Township.Police said the crash happened on Freeport Road when a westbound car driven by Jonathon L. Smith, 35, of Chicora crossed a double yellow line and collided with an eastbound sport utility vehicle driven by Sara Deshong, 22, of Kittanning.Two passengers in the SUV — 1-year-old Dylan Deshong and 2-year-old Hallie Deshong — suffered serious to moderate injuries. Both infants were in child safety seats.Sara Deshong and Richard J. Deshong, 27, of Kittanning, a passenger in the SUV, suffered moderate injuries. Alisha M. Law, 23, of Worthington, another passenger in the SUV, and Smith suffered minor injuries.All those injured were taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County or ACMH Hospital in Kittanning. Police said all the adults were wearing seat belts.

10:26 p.m. Saturday — Matthew E. Martin, 33, of Swissvale, Allegheny County, was arrested for driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township.Saturday — A small amount of money was reported stolen from a North Liberty Road home in Liberty Township. The theft happened between June 12 and Saturday.11:25 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Matthew E. Kocher, 32, of Grove City crashed into a guardrail on Route 955 in Worth Township. The pickup slid on top of the guardrail for about 30 feet before stopping. Police said Kocher, who was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries, was cited for careless driving.10:25 a.m. Friday — A farm tractor driven by Silas D. Paxton, 22, of Grove City and a car driven by Linda L. McAninch, 66, of Stoneboro collided at Springfield Church and McConnell roads in Findley Township. Police said Paxton was cited for making an improper left turn.1:11 a.m. Friday — A minivan driven by Christine A. Terwilliger, 43, of Grove City struck a guardrail on I-79 near Scrubgrass Road in Findley Township. Police said Terwilliger was cited for careless driving.4 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jerred R. Moss, 19, of Conneaut Lake, Crawford County, struck a deer on I-79 in Springfield Township.
