Sunday - A window overnight was broken out at the Butler Dialysis Center on West Diamond Street. The vandalism occurred that night after another window at the same business was smashed out with a brick.3:30 a.m. Saturday - Douglas Cinonski, 31, of Harrisville was arrested for driving under the influence at Main and Dingham streets. Cinonski was also cited for careless driving and failure to stay in his lane of traffic.2:25 a.m. Saturday - James Scheall Jr., 30, of 115½ Walker Ave. was arrested for driving under the influence after leading police in a short chase through the city's Institute Hill section.Police stopped Scheall at West New Castle and North Main streets in a car seen failing to stop at a flashing red light at South Chestnut and West Cunningham streets. But Scheall drove off after the officer got out of his cruiser.The officer gave chase for about 1½ miles before again stopping Scheall on Eisler Street. The suspect was found with a marijuana pipe and suspected marijuana.An intoxilyzer test determined Scheall's blood-alcohol level was 0.232 percent - nearly three times the 0.08 percent level considered intoxicated for drivers under state law.Scheall was arraigned on charges of DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude police, and possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bond, following arraignment.Saturday - Andy Connoly of Concord Township reported his car windshield was smashed out on East Penn Street.10:10 p.m. March 24 - Scott Hopper, 20, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on North Main Street.Police said two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin was found in the car Hooper was driving. Hopper was also found with three empty stamp bags and a half-full stamper with suspected heroin in his wallet.He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, speeding and driving with a suspended license.

Sunday - Police were called out to six separate shoplifting cases over the weekend at the Wal-Mart store at Butler Commons.Charged with retail theft were:Sherry McClimans, 44, of Butler, who was cited about 7:10 p.m. Sunday after allegedly taking undisclosed merchandise.Mary Sack, 21, of Downingtown, Chester County, was cited at 4:11 p.m. for taking undisclosed items.Michael McDowell, 25, of Franklin Township was cited at 9:12 p.m. Saturday for shoplifting merchandise.Keith Lowen, 24, of Butler was cited at 7:38 p.m. Saturday for taking items from the store. Police said Lowen, who was under house arrest and was wearing an electronic ankle bracelet, was later placed in the Butler County Prison for a probation violation.Two girls, whom police did not identify, were cited at 9:30 p.m. Friday for allegedly stealing cosmetics.Tyler Stefanik, 18, of Pine Tract Road, Butler was cited at 4:34 p.m. Friday after allegedly taking an undisclosed number of compact discs.

1:10 p.m. Sunday - A car driven by Jamie Gamble, 24, of Chicora skidded on snow-covered Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township and collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Vicki Coyle, 48, of Butler. Gamble and a 5-year-old boy riding in her car suffered minor injuries.Noon Sunday - A car driven by Charles Williams III, 20, of Boyers skidded off Route 308 in Cherry Township and struck a guardrail. Williams was cited for driving too fast for conditions and driving with an expired license.11:45 a.m. Sunday - A car driven by David Cook, 23, of Butler skidded off Route 8 and Muddy Creek Drive in Center Township, struck an embankment and became airborne for about 50 feet before crashing. Cook was cited for driving too fast for conditions.10:57 a.m. Sunday - Five people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash on Route 308 in Marion Township.The crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Toni Urbank, 44, of Boyers skidded on the snow- and slush-covered road and collided with a pickup truck driven by Carl Daubenspeck, 73, of Petrolia.Both drivers and two juvenile passengers in the SUV and a 69-year-old passenger in the pickup were taken with minor injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital and United Community Hospital in Grove City. All occupants in the vehicle were wearing seat belts. Urbank was cited for driving too fast for conditions.5:54 a.m. Saturday - Nathaniel Hackett, 23, of Butler was arrested for breaking into a Tiger Road home in Connoquenessing Township.Charles Barnett, who was inside his house, discovered the burglar in the basement living room and fled the house with his family.Police arrested Hackett who was still inside the house. He is charged with burglary, trespass and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $3,000 bond.4:05 p.m. Friday - Leonard Hendricks, no age given, of Butler was seriously injured when he swerved his motorcycle to avoid an unidentified vehicle in the middle of the road and crashed into a guardrail on Church Road in Penn Township. Hendricks, who was wearing a helmet, was flown to an unidentified Pittsburgh Hospital. His condition was not known this morning.12:30 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Noreen Moculski, 57, of Butler crashed into a ditch and shrubs along Hinchberger Road in Summit Township. Moculski, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries.Thursday - Police recovered several pieces of metal tubing they believed were previously stolen. The owner can claim the property by calling the barracks at 724-284-8100.

3:40 a.m. Saturday - Joseph Besspiata, 26, of Parker was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck struck a small tree and utility pole along Main Street in Emlenton, Venango County.Police said Besspiata fled the crash but was later found with injuries, including a partially collapsed lung and a broken collarbone and hand. He was treated for the injuries at the Northwest Regional Medical Center in Cranberry, Venango County.

1 p.m. Saturday - David Smith, 37, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck the rear of a pickup truck on Route 422 in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.Mark Olinger, 50, of Kittanning, a passenger in the pickup driven by Karen Tobias, 51, of Boardman, Ohio, allegedly struck Smith in the face after the crash. Olinger was cited for harassment in the incident.Tobias, meanwhile, suffered a head injury in the crash. It was not known this morning if she required hospitalization for the injury.

10:40 a.m. Sunday - A car driven by Markus Schafer, 21, of Mullica Hill, N.J., skidded on snow- and ice-covered Route 208 in Springfield Township, Mercer County, and collided head-on with a car driven by William Hammerschimdt, 60, of Canonsburg, Washington County.Hammerschimdt, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with minor injuries to United Community Hospital in Grove City. Schafer was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Sunday - Brian Barish, no age given, of Grove City allegedly drove over his girlfriend's foot during a domestic dispute at the Pine Grove Plaza in Pine Township, Mercer County.Police said Barish and Sarah Zimmerman, no age given, of Grove City were arguing in a car when the woman tried to get out of the vehicle. Barish pulled away in the car and ran over Zimmerman's foot. Police said charges are pending against Barish.5:45 a.m. Thursday - David Lander, no age given, of Mercer swerved his car to avoid a deer on Route 58 in Pine Township, Mercer County, traveled off the road and struck a tree. Lander suffered minor injuries.
