Charlotte E. Dickie
Charlotte E. Dickie, 93, of Cranberry Township, formerly of New Eagle, Pa., died Monday, April 26, 2021, in Apple Blossom Senior Living in Moon Township.
She was born Feb. 5, 1928, in New Eagle, Pa., and was the daughter of Charles and Mary Komar Muntan.
Charlotte was a graduate of Monongahela High School.
She was employed in the kitchen at the Charleroi Monessen Hospital, and then retired as a ward clerk at the Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela, where she formerly held the role of deacon, trustee, and was a member of the Gibson Class and 3M’s. While residing in Cranberry Township, she attended Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church, where she participated in the Women’s Sunday School Class and Ladies Lunch and Learn. She was a member of the Mon Valley Rebekah Lodge 82 of Gastonville, the Monongahela AARP Chapter 2563, and was active in the Monongahela Senior Citizens Center.
Charlotte is survived by three sons, Robert Charles Dickie and his wife, Lorraine, of The Woodlands, Texas, William Dickie Jr. and his wife, Priscilla, of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Mark Dickie and his wife, Soraya, of Aliquippa; her daughter, Lorraine Dickie Cowan and her husband, David, with whom she made her home; seven grandchildren, Sean Dickie and his wife, Eskedar, Shannon Dickie Prendergast and her husband, Mike, Ian Dickie, David Cowan, Christina Cowan, Ashley Esworthy and her husband, Gary, and Kayleigh Dickie; five great- grandchildren, Sophie and Sydney Dickie, Justin and Dylan Prendergast, and Nora Esworthy; her sister, Barbara Jean Muntan of Charleroi; and her brother, Robert Muntan and his wife, Sharon, of Monongahela.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Dickie Sr., who died Sept. 27, 2004; three brothers, Charles, William and James Muntan; and two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Franks and April Roberts.
DICKIE — Friends of Charlotte E. Dickie, who died Monday, April 26, 2021, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Frye Funeral Home, 427 W. Main St., Monongahela.
Services will be held at noon Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 609 Chess St., Monongahela, with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating.
Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
