DePaolis

Laura D. (Barner) DePaolis, 92, of Butler, formerly of Oriental, entered into rest on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 19, 1934, in Oriental, a daughter of the late George E. and L. Dorothy (Weller) Barner.

She married James DePaolis Jr. in 1957. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1982.

Laura was a 1951 graduate of Greenwood High School.

She began working for Nationwide Insurance in 1955, and remained there for over eight years. She retired as a receptionist at the YWCA in Butler, at age 79.

Laura’s greatest joys were reading and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Glen Keener Jr., of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Karen R. Barner, of Lewisburg; niece, Sue Byers and her husband, Keith, of Millerstown; nephew, Victor Barner, of Liverpool; great-nephews, Cole, Tyler and Matthew Barner, all of Liverpool; and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law, G. Robert Barner and Michael and Judy Barner.

DEPAOLIS — Burial for Laura D. (Barner) DePaolis, who died Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, will be private in Liverpool Union Cemetery.
