Harold Birckbichler

Birckbichler

Harold W. Birckbichler, 91, of Butler, unexpectedly left this worldly life with his wife by his side to join his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2022, at Concordia of Cabot.

Mr. Birckbichler was the son of Fred and Dorothy (Blume) Birckbichler.

He was born in Butler on June 23, 1930.

He attended Butler schools and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1951 to 1954. He was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. He frequently spoke of his Air Force days.

He was employed by Armco Steel for 43 years.

He was married to Faye Snyder and they spent 63 years together raising their children. After their children were grown, they did extensive traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, visiting all 50 states and six continents.

He was a hardworking, self-made man, devoted and very supportive of his family and was immensely proud of all their accomplishments.

He is survived by his brothers, Dale (Flo) Birckbichler and Cletus (Mary Ann) Birckbichler; and his sister, Carolyn (Paul) Benninger.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Cheryl (John) Lamade and Dave Birckbichler, both of Medina, Ohio, and Brian (Jill) Birckbichler of Blandon, Pa.

He also had seven grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) and Andrew Lamade, and Emma, Samuel, Justin, Kyle and Courtney Birckbichler.

His great-grandchildren are Wyatt, Ryan and Eli Lamade.

His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He often wore a shirt that said, “If I had known grandchildren were so fun, I would have had them first.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and Robert; and his sister, Violet.
