Philip S. Yenkala, 48, of Evans City Road in Renfrew died Tuesday at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 9, 1961, in Butler, a son of the late Charles and Patricia Hasbach Yenkala.

Philip was a graduate of Butler High School and worked as a certified tank installer for Shockey Excavation Co. until his illness.

Phil greatly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the N.R.A.

His wife, Patricia A. Schmidt Yenkala, whom he married March 15, 2010, survives him. Also surviving are three stepsons, Matthew Sydlik and his wife, Nicole Sydlik, of Butler, Jacob Sydlik also of Butler and Nathan Sydlik of Erie; two sisters and their husbands, Cecelia and Ernest Jones of Butler and Lisa and Harry Steele of Ohio; and a step-granddaughter, Mekeozi Marie Sydlik. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

<B>YENKALA </B>— There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Philip S. Yenkala, who died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, from St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian with Father James Murphy, pastor, officiating.
