2:04 p.m. Thursday — A vehicle driven by Jonathan D. Smith, 35, of Butler turned into the path of another vehicle on Route 8 north at Fairfield Lane. Kathleen S. Moore, 54, of Butler was the other driver.

No one was injured in the collision, but both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Smith for making an improper left turn.

1:07 p.m. Thursday — A set of keys were found at Whitestown and Fairground Hill roads. Police said the owner can claim the keys at the police station at 290 S. Duffy St.

8 p.m. April 14 — Police arrested a Brady Township couple on charges that they assaulted one another during a domestic dispute at their home on Walker Lane.

The defendants — Jason P. Williams, 45, and Desiree S. Crawford, 32 — are both charged with simple assault and harassment.

Williams is accused of grabbing Crawford and throwing her onto a pallet on the front porch. He allegedly struck her on the back of the head while she was on the ground, according to court documents. She suffered scrapes and scratches.

Crawford is accused of throwing a glass pickle jar at Williams, hitting him in the head. He suffered a cut on the side of his head.

Williams is in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail. Crawford is free on $1,500 bail.

April 12 — Kurt R. Kelly, 41, of Concord Township and Amanda L. Dennett, 33, of Butler were arrested for allegedly using a woman’s credit card without her permission to make $1,405 in fraudulent money transfers.

Court documents identified the victim as Kelly’s mother and the defendants as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Police said an investigation found that between Feb. 2 and March 15, Dennett used the card eight times to send herself the money through Western Union, according to court documents.

On April 11, Investigators interviewed Dennett, who allegedly claimed Kelly came up with the idea to use the victim’s credit card.

Both defendants were arraigned on felony charges of access device fraud and identity theft and misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property.

Following arraignment, Kelly was placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail and Dennett was released on her own recognizance.

April 11 — Sean R. Comperatore, 30, of Butler was charged with drunken driving, stemming from a traffic stop last month in Center Township. Police said they pulled him over around 12:30 a.m. March 17 after they saw his pickup truck cross the center yellow line on Jamisonville Road.

Comperatore allegedly failed field sobriety tests and he was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.121 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

He is charged with driving under the influence, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

April 4 — Randi L. Caldwell, 36, of Lyndora was charged with drugged driving in connection with a speeding stop on Route 422 just west of Route 528 in Muddy Creek Township. Police said they clocked her going 73 mph in a 55 mph zone around 1 p.m. Feb. 15.

Caldwell admitted that she had recently smoked marijuana, according to court documents, and a search of her car turned up a suspected marijuana cigarette. She also had a marijuana grinder in her purse.

Police took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, documents said, which showed she had marijuana and cocaine in her system.

In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Caldwell is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, speeding and careless driving.

March 26 — A Grove City teenager was charged with being 10 times the state’s legal limit of alcohol for a person under 21 and on drugs, stemming from a one-vehicle crash in Mercer Township. Shawn D. Mack, 18, wrecked around 5:50 a.m. March 10 on Browntown Road.

Police said they noticed a drug-smoking device in the wrecked vehicle, and Mack subsequently failed field sobriety tests. A portable breath test device also allegedly indicated he had alcohol in his system.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.20 percent, according to court documents. In Pennsylvania, drivers under 21 are considered to be intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of 0.02 percent or higher.

Additionally, documents said, he tested positive for benzoylecgonine, which is a metabolite of cocaine.

Mack is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol, DUI by a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, making an improper turn, careless driving, minors prohibited from driving with any alcohol in their system and not using hazard lights.
