Sunday — An unknown thief stole an air conditioner unit from a home in the 400 block of East Brady Street. The AC unit, worth $400, was taken between 2 and 5 p.m.5:48 p.m. Saturday — Brent A. Moculski, 42, of West Sunbury was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found slumped over the steering wheel of a pickup truck in the parking lot of a pizza shop on West Cunningham Street.Officers were able to wake Moculski, who had a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from him, according to a police report.An emergency medical crew examined the suspect before he was given a breath test that showed his blood alcohol level was 0.302 percent, or more than three and a half times the 0.08 percent limit considered intoxicated under state law.4:43 p.m. April 26 — Betty George, 46, of Butler was hurt when a pickup truck accidentally struck her hand while backing up from a gas station stall at the A-Plus store on West Jefferson Street.George was in a motorized wheelchair and was crossing in back of the pickup when she was hit. William P. Keffalas, 50, of Summit Township, who was driving the truck, told police he did not see George. No charges were filed.George complained of pain in her hand but she did not immediately seek medical treatment, a police report said.
10:52 a.m. Wednesday — A 17-year-old girl allegedly assaulted a teacher at the Clarence Brown School. Police charged the girl, who they did not identify, in juvenile court with simple assault and harassment.
4:20 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Butler boy and a pickup truck driven by Jack C. Warren Jr., 62, of Chicora collided on Route 68 in Summit Township. Police did not identify the boy, who was cited for not stopping at a red light.11:40 p.m. Wednesday—Kevin A. Haas, 30, of Jefferson Township was arrested after an altercation with a woman at a home on Sarver Road in Winfield Township. Police said Haas allegedly kicked in a bathroom door and pulled out Nicole Lojak-Raymond before choking her and throwing her on a bed.Haas was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.Wednesday — An unknown vandal cut the liner of a swimming pool on Fawn Drive in Connoquenessing Township.8:15 p.m. Monday — Frank Lee Ballina, 22, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his stepmother during a domestic dispute at their State Street home in Saxonburg.Ballina is accused of pushing his stepmother, District Judge Sue Haggerty, to the floor, causing her to fall on her hand, according to court documents.The altercation started when the suspect tried to grab a set of car keys from Haggerty's hand, police said She suffered minor injuries.Ballina was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 cash bail.
Monday — Police charged Ryan T. Napierkowski, 21, of Valencia with drunken driving in connection with a suspected hit-and-run crash shortly before 3 a.m. April 16 on Brickyard Road.A patrol officer noticed bushes knocked over at 210 Brickyard Road and a damaged car in the westbound lane. There was no one in or around the car.Suspecting the car had been in an accident, police called in a K-9 unit to help track the unknown driver. The police dog led officers through yards and fields to the area between the Brickyard Shoppes and Route Route 228.Napierkowski soon appeared from over an embankment, according to court documents. He was “dirty and unsteady on his feet,” a police affidavit said.Police identified the suspect as the driver in the crash on Brickyard Road. He was taken about 4:20 a.m. to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test.Results of the test revealed his blood-alcohol level was 0.177 percent, or more than twice the 0.08 percent limit considered intoxicated under state law.Napierkowski is charged with driving under the influence, hit-and-run, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, driving an unregistered vehicle and criminal mischief.
Monday — Police charged Amanda C. Cicco, 34, of Cranberry Township with drunken driving stemming from an April 15 traffic stop on Hook Street.Police said Cicco showed signs of intoxication when they pulled her over about 11 p.m. She later was taken to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a blood test.Results of the test revealed her blood-alcohol level was 0.214 percent, or more than two and a half times the legal limit.Cicco is charged with DUI, driving with expired unregistered, driving a vehicle not inspected and a stop sign violation.
Monday — Police filed drunken driving charges against Amanda E. Juart, 30, of New Castle in connection with a 2 a.m. April 23 traffic stop on Route 19.A blood test later showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.180 percent, or more than twice the legal limit.Juart is charged with DUI and careless driving.2:02 a.m. Sunday — Dustin S. Lunsford, 21, of Garrison, Texas, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at South Main and Spring streets.Police said Lunsford failed several field sobriety tests and then was taken to Ellwood City Hospital for a blood test. Results showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.188 percent, or more than double the legal limit.Lunsford is charged with DUI, driving without a license, careless driving and a lane violation.</B>
