A Greensburg woman was sentenced to jail Wednesday in county court, after being charged with burglarizing a business in May 2016.

Creanna L. Martin, 25, was sentenced to six to 12 months in Butler County Prison by Judge William Shaffer.

She also was ordered to complete 12 months probation following the parole and to pay court costs and restitution of $6.

Martin entered an alternative plea in Behavioral Health Court Nov. 2, 2016, to charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, defiant trespass and summary retail theft. A condition of that plea was that if Martin failed to complete the program, she would plead guilty to felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor retail theft.

Martin was removed from Behavioral Health Court in September of 2017, which led to Thursday's sentencing.

She was initially charged with felony burglary, criminal trespass and summary retail theft after an incident at Dollar General in Butler May 3, 2016. The misdemeanor charges were later added.

Butler City police said Martin hid in the store until it closed and took some of the merchandise.

Martin was spotted leaving through the store's back door after a manager arrived at 4:18 a.m. for a truck delivery.

The manager called police, who arrested Martin at North Main and Brady streets. She was held on $25,000 bail which was later reduced and she was released into Behavioral Health Court.

Martin is also facing charges of felony burglary, misdemeanor simple assault and resisting arrest in a second alleged burglary incident that Butler police said occurred Nov. 20, shortly after her release.

In that incident, police said Martin allegedly forced her way into an elderly woman's house on Mercer Street in Butler.

Police said the 78-year-old female resident reported that she answered a knock on the back door. Martin, who was intoxicated, pushed inside, went upstairs and made her way to a rear bedroom.

She was Tasered and detained following a brief standoff with police.

Trial in that case is scheduled Jan. 29.
