Slippery Rock man found with multiple weapons at Worth Township gas station
A Slippery Rock man was found at Love’s Travel Stop in Worth Township with several guns, a machete and drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Joseph Scott Aaron, 39, was charged Thursday, June 18, with one misdemeanor count each of firearms not to be carried without a license and drug paraphernalia possession following a May 17 incident.
State police said they were at Love’s Travel Stop when Aaron pulled into the parking lot and parked at a gas pump. Police said Aaron was acting erratic, attempted to pull away from officers and was detained.
Police said they spotted a black handgun in Aaron’s vehicle, which prompted them to search the vehicle.
Police found two Savage long rifles, two 20-gauge Maverick Arms shotguns, a Springfield XDS 9mm handgun, ammunition of various calibers, a black machete, two glass smoking pipes with suspected drug residue, a digital scale and other related paraphernalia.
Aaron’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
