Harrisville man charged again in connection to 2022 cases
A Harrisville man, who in 2022 was sought by police on separate accusations of theft, burglary, robbery and aggravated assault, was charged again by state police Thursday, Aug. 10.
Ryan A. Williams, 44, was charged with felony possession of a prohibited firearm in connection to a case where police accused him of shooting at a home in Concord Township in December.
Williams was arrested Dec. 21 after police searched for him, and has been in Butler County Prison under a combined $600,000 bond ever since.
The new charges were filed after police said a gun was recovered from a Petrolia home where Williams had been eluding custody. The gun was the same one used on Dec. 18 when police said Williams fired at a home in Concord Township, police said.
Due to criminal history, Williams is not permitted to possess a firearm.
Williams was first charged in with burglary, robbery, prohibited possession of a firearm and theft, and misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and simple assault.
According to state police, Williams and Tiffany L. Lowers, 35, entered a Concord Township home through a locked door on Dec. 3. Williams then threatened the homeowner, attempted to restrain them with bed sheets and stole a shotgun, police said.
Police said on Dec. 18 the homeowner heard gunshots outside his home, and said he saw Williams pointing and firing a gun toward the house.
For this second case, Williams was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault and intimidating a witness, misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and simple assault, and summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct.
When Williams and Lowers were eventually arrested Dec. 21 in Petrolia, a 12-gauge shotgun was found where they were staying. Police said the gun was registered to Williams’ wife.
He was jailed in lieu of $500,00 bond on that case and placed under an additional $100,000 bond following the Dec. 18 encounter in Concord Township with the same homeowner.
A recent interview with the homeowner revealed that the shotgun found in the Petrolia home was the same one Williams used to fire at the house, according to documents. This resulted in the most recent charges against Williams.
