Nina Ziegler

Ziegler

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Nina Lee Ziegler, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Early in the morning on March 6, 2022, she left this earthly realm after a long battle with multiple myeloma. It would be wrong to say that Nina lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Nina stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Nina. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight.

She was born in Natrona Heights, on Feb. 17, 1952, and was the daughter of the late Walter Rudolph and Virginia Hines Basar.

She attended and graduated from Highland Senior High School in 1970. Several years later, she attended Sawyer School, where she earned her associate degree in hospitality management.

Nina was a dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Grennan.” She lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and worker in the hotel and hospitality sector as a senior account representative.

Nina is survived by her loving husband, John Ziegler; and her brother, Alan Basar.

She was a proud mother to her sons, Michael McKinney and Donald McKinney, and her stepdaughter, Trisa Ziegler Carman.

She will forever be remembered with love by her three grandchildren, Isaac McKinney, Morrigan McKinney and Mya Carman.
