Gene Edward Lee

Gene Edward Lee, 78, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, while under the care of Paramount Senior Living of Cranberry.

Born May 13, 1943, in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert Gene Lee and Carol Winifred (Lowry) Lee.

Gene worked as a metallurgical engineer for many international foundries.

He was a faithful member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople, where he was instrumental in helping to build the church addition in 2007. He also belonged to the men's ministry and served as a lead elder and a past president of consistory.

Gene was a member of Cranberry Elks Lodge 2249 and the Grove City Country Club.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also enjoyed a nice glass of scotch. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Sandra Elaine (Krogh) Lee, whom he married on Sept. 1, 1962; his children, Merrit McDonald and her husband, Jim, and Matthew Lee and his wife, Toni; his grandchildren, Megan McDonald Osterman and her husband, Jerad, Kendra McDonald, Andrew Lee and Laken Lee; his great-granddaughter, Emilia Osterman; his sisters, Linda Craft and her husband, Gene, and Nancy Gesler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Lee.

LEE — A celebration of life service for Gene Edward Lee, who died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti officiating.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Memorial donations may be made in Gene's honor to St. Peter's Reformed Church at the address above, or to the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 575 Lincoln Ave., #101, Bellevue, PA 15202.
