What started out as a heated attack over a woman ended in a jail sentence Thursday when a Kittanning man was handed down a minimum of one year behind bars.

Judge William Shaffer sentenced Scott F. Walker, 43, to one year minus one day to two years minus one day in prison for ambushing and beating a man who, according to police, was seeing Walker's ex-girlfriend. Walker declined to make a comment. On June 4, he struck a plea deal with prosecutors, pleading guilty to simple assault and no contest to robbery and theft.

Walker assaulted the 35-year-old victim at his home on Annisville Road in Parker Township last August. The victim eventually was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, authorities said, with facial fractures and head injuries.

The victim told police that Walker had threatened him earlier that day. Walker also allegedly had made threats against the same man “a couple days” before on Facebook Messenger.

“(The victim) related he was dating (a woman),” according to a police affidavit, “who was the recent ex of Walker.”

Walker told police that he tracked down the victim's home using Facebook, documents said. He went there and allegedly waited for the other man to return home.

“Walker physically assaulted (the victim) using his fists,” the affidavit said.

According to the defendant's account, after the attack he went home and took a shower.

As part of Walker's sentence, he will also be on probation for two years and will receive credit for time already served.
