County gets new chief assessor; Savage retires
Amy Francis, the former GIS coordinator and assessor in Erie County, will be the new chief assessor for Butler County.
Mark Gordon, the county's chief of economic development and planning, announced the move on Wednesday in a news release.
Francis will begin her new job on July 29.
She holds a degree in business management from Mercyhurst College in Erie as well as continuing education and certification in the appraiser field.
The current chief assessor, Chris Savage, will retire on Friday after 33 years with the county.
Savage began his career in 1986 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and worked in the county motor pool before transferring to the county assessment office.
Savage worked his way through the ranks, ultimately being named chief assessor in January 2013.
“The Butler County Commissioners and the county workforce wish Mr. Savage the best in his retirement,” the release stated.
