1:29 a.m. Friday — Kristoffer M. Ion, 27, of Jackson Township was caught with a stolen license plate on the pickup truck he was driving that police stopped on the 300 block of East Jefferson Street.

A patrol officer first noticed the truck on Walker Avenue and began to follow it onto Center Avenue and South Cliff Street. The officer ran the plate and found that it was previously reported stolen by state police, according to court documents.

Ion is charged with receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving a vehicle without insurance and without valid inspection.

Monday — Four people were charged in connection with a shoplifting investigation that began last year.

Police allege Brittany P. Lynn, 21, of Butler committed “numerous” thefts between Dec. 8 and 20 at the Walmart at Butler Commons. She also is accused of helping three others take merchandise from the store.

Lynn is charged with a felony count of conspiracy to commit retail theft, misdemeanor counts of retail theft and theft by unlawful taking and two summary counts of retail theft.

Dustin J. Cunning, 30, of Butler is charged with felony counts of retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft and a summary count of defiant trespass.

Christopher P. Giffin, 30, and Christy L. Lynn, 43, of Butler were both cited for summary retail theft.

Monday — James A. Driskell, 39, of Butler was charged for a pair of incidents at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.

He was charged with theft by deception and summary retail theft, according to two police reports.

The reports said Driskell made a fraudulent return, valued at $64.88, to the Butler Township Walmart on Feb. 21, and he was caught the next day attempting to steal merchandise valued at $78.88.

10:45 p.m. March 9 — Timothy Green, 54, of Butler Township was arrested and charged for driving under the influence after he lost control of his vehicle on a wet road and struck a residence, according to the police report.

Green was traveling west on Kohler Avenue when he lost control of his 2009 GMC Sierra truck and drove through a white picket fence and into the corner of a porch at 576 Kohler Ave.

The residents of the home were inside at the time of the crash, but no injuries were reported at the scene. The house sustained minor structural damage.

6:15 p.m. March 24 — Kaelyn E. Blankenship, 29, of Chicora, was charged with retail theft after she failed to scan merchandise valued at $206.33 at the Butler Township Walmart’s self-checkout, according to the police report.

12:51 p.m. March 29 — Amber Selfridge, 39, of Butler was cited for defiant trespassing after she was seen inside Walmart, despite having been banned from the store, according to the police report.

March 26 — Matthew T. Kerr, 20, of New Castle was charged with drugged driving stemming from a February traffic stop on North Road at Green and White Way. Police said he was pulled over Feb. 16 for swerving in his lane several times.

Kerr acknowledged that he had smoked marijuana about an hour earlier and he handed over a baggie with suspected marijuana, according to court documents.

Police took him to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which allegedly confirmed he had marijuana in his system.

Kerr is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and careless driving.

10:36 p.m. Sunday — Nathan Pistorius, 25, of Pittsburgh was charged with running a stop sign after a crash on Bonniebrook Road in Jefferson Township at its intersection with Great Belt Road, according to a police report.

Driving a 2003 Hyundai Sonata, Pistorius ran through the stop sign as he was traveling north on Bonniebrook Road and struck a 2018 Subaru Impreza, driven by John Brock, 32, of Butler, according to the report.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. No injuries were reported in the crash.

12:47 a.m. Monday — Paul Jeppson, 61, of Salt Lake City, Utah, was arrested for simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he had a physical altercation with a 64-year-old Harrisville woman.

March 26 — Police charged Enrico J. Parenti, 28, of Harrisville with stealing prescription medication from a relative’s apartment on South Main Street in Harrisville. He is accused of removing a pill bottle containing 16 clonazepam tablets on March 21.

Parenti is charged with a misdemeanor count of theft.

March 27 — Robert M. Vorel, 42, of Center Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop earlier in the month on Mercer Road in Center Township. He was stopped around 9:20 p.m. March 8, police said, for several traffic violations, including weaving in his lane.

Police said Vorel admitted that he had smoked marijuana about an hour before being stopped. He also told police, according to court documents, that he was texting his wife.

He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which allegedly confirmed he had marijuana in his system.

Vorel is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to stop at a red light, texting while driving, careless driving and failing to use low beams.

March 26 — Police obtained an arrest warrant for a Lawrence County woman accused of forging and cashing three checks last year that belonged to a relative in Muddy Creek Township.

The defendant, Dayna L. Vignoli, 30, of Pulaski, allegedly forged the victim’s signature on or about Oct. 19 and cashed the checks for a combined $450.

Vignoli is charged with a felony count of theft by deception and a misdemeanor count of forgery.

March 26 — Nickolas A. Patterson, 21, of Volant was charged with drugged driving stemming from a February traffic stop in Slippery Rock Township. Police said they stopped his car around 3:40 a.m. Feb. 23 on Harmony Road after he passed a cruiser vehicle with its high beam on.

Patterson stopped in the middle of the road, according to court documents, and did not pull over to the right. He allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana and was subsequently taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results allegedly confirmed he had marijuana in his system.

Patterson is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving a vehicle without insurance, careless driving and failing to use low beams.

March 12 — A Pittsburgh man was charged with being more than three times the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a February one-vehicle wreck in Buffalo Township.

Police said Jonathan S. Cinn, 47, crashed his car Feb. 10 on the Route 28 on-ramp at exit 18. He admitted that he had consumed five or six alcoholic drinks, according to court documents.

A breath test subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.273 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Cinn is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
